Cookie Policy

How OSPEA measures website use and how visitors can control optional analytics cookies.

Last updated: 2 September 2026

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. They help websites function and provide information to the site owner.

What cookies we use

OSPEA's first-party website measurement does not set cookies or use browser storage. We use optional Google Analytics 4 (GA4) cookies only after you consent.

Cookie-free OSPEA measurement

We collect basic page, referrer, campaign, device, browser, country, and visit-duration information using our own analytics service. Query strings are removed from page paths. We do not set a visitor cookie or store raw IP addresses or user-agent strings.

A daily-rotating pseudonymous visitor hash supports aggregate counts without tracking a visitor across days. The tracker honours browser Do Not Track signals.

Analytics cookies (GA4)

These cookies help us measure:

  • how many people visit,
  • which pages are viewed,
  • how users navigate,
  • and how our site performs.

Typical GA cookies may include:

  • _ga
  • _ga_<container-id>

Cookie names can vary depending on configuration.

We store your GA4 choice in your browser's local storage under ospea_analytics_consent. This preference has no automatic expiry and remains until you change it below or clear OSPEA site data in your browser.

Do you need consent?

Under UK/EU rules (UK GDPR/GDPR and PECR), analytics cookies typically require consent. OSPEA sets GA4 cookies only after you consent via the analytics control.

How to change your preferences

Optional Google Analytics cookies: Disabled

Cookie-free OSPEA measurement remains active unless your browser sends Do Not Track.

You can also use browser settings to block or delete cookies. Disabling optional analytics won't prevent you from using the website.

Essential cookies

We may use strictly necessary cookies for core website functionality (such as authentication sessions). These do not require consent under PECR because they are essential to provide the service you requested.
